FOREST TRAIL EVENTS

It was our pleasure to combine with Komatsu to host a Charity Trail Ride at Ohakuri to help raise money for Children with Cancer.

The weather wasn't the best but riders came from near and far to ride and had a great day.

Thanks to all those who came and helped out with sign on, cooking the BBQ and the awesome as always sweep riders.

This is the 9th year of the Dirt Guide Cross Country Series.  There seemdto be a lot of interest in the sereies once again.  The first round also see's the event incorporating the first round of Paul Whibleys Cross Country Series as well.  Who knows what mother nature will throw at us this year but not much we can do about that.

Well after having to postpone the Suzuki Junior 3 hOur Challenge for its original date due to bad weather the day couldnt have been more perfect.  We ended up with more entrants and the sun was shining. The overall winners were Andrew Barr and Luke Taylor.  In 2nd place were James Scott and Daniel White and 3rd was Sam Harrington and Reece Lister.  This is a teams event giving the young riders the opportunity of riding lap for lap with a partner.  All the teams were really well behaved and it was a great day all round.  Looking forward to running it again and seeing you all next year.

The Labour Monday Trail Ride was a great day.  The weather held out for us and the tracks were well enjoyed by eveyone.  The big 40km track was a real attraction for a lot of people.  the 10km track was enough for some riders as was the 3km loop.  The kids all had a ball on the kids track too.

Due to terrible weather we had to postpone the Suzuki 3 Hour Junior Challenge until the 29th of November.

Once the rain started to fall on the Friday before the event it didnt stop until late in the evening of the Saturday night of race day.  The usually fast draining soil at Ohakuri was just too waterlogged to keep the Suzuki 6 Hour Challenge going.  At the 2 and a half  hour mark it was decided to call the race off as the track became impassable in places and diverting the riders was not an option.
